MINER INSTITUTE ANNOUNCES MARCH 4 DATE
FOR ANNUAL CORN CONGRESS
Chazy, NY – January 16, 2008 – The William H. Miner Agricultural
Research Institute will host its annual Corn Congress on Tuesday, March
4, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m. The focus of this educational event is
corn and forage crops. Corn Congress is open to the public at no charge,
with no advance registration required. Lunch is available for $5.00.
This year’s guest speaker is Dr. Limin Kung, Jr., Dairy Nutrition and
Silage Fermentation Laboratory, University of Delaware, who will be
discussing “Getting the most out of bunks, piles and bag silos” and
“Evaluating Corn Hybrids using Milk 2006 and Corn Picker”. Other topics
include “Optimizing the Starch Digestibility of Your Corn Silage” by Dr.
Rick Grant, President of Miner Institute, and “Reflections after 42
years of heat, cold, ice, wind, rain, drought and the occasional
‘normal’ growing season” presented by Ev Thomas, Vice President,
Agricultural Programs of Miner Institute.
Commercial exhibits open at 10:00 a.m.,
guest speakers will begin at 11:00 a.m. with about half hour
presentations each, and the event will conclude at 3:00 p.m. with door
prize drawings.
Corn Congress is held in the Miner Center
Education Building of Miner Institute and is located on Route 191, just
