Dairy
Dairy production is the number one agricultural pursuit in Northern New
York. The market value of the dairy products from 1,487 dairy farms in the
2002 Census of Agriculture totaled $300,884,000. The average annual
production of the 134,551 milk cows in the region was 17,200 pounds of milk
per cow.
Northern New York Agricultural Development Program (NNYADP) projects are
designed to enhance farm profitability, crop and animal production
efficiencies, and environmental stewardship.
