What is the North Country Dairy Viability Initiative?

The 2002 Census of Agriculture showed the Northern New York region with 1,487 dairy farms, 134,551 milk cows, and producing more than $300 million dollars worth of market value dairy products. (See our Regional Profile for more statistical information.) The Northern New York Agricultural Development Program supports dairying with research and education programs.
